Dear Brothers & Sister of unit 1 (SFU)

As you are aware your contract committee has been meeting regularly to prepare for bargaining.

We invite ALL members of CUPE local 3338 - UNIT 1 (SFU) to a SPECIAL two (2) hour Contract meeting. Your contract committee members will be presenting unit 1's proposal for bargaining.

Due to the sensitivity of the material presented there will not be hard copies available.  It is imperative that ALL members of the unit attend this meeting to view the proposal.

This meeting is scheduled as noted in our collective agreement article 6.03 (h) - 2nd paragraph.

"..once during each calendar year the Union has the right to arrange a two (2) hour lunch-time general membership meeting.  The two (2) hours shall include the meal break period for all employees who attend and the remaining time off work for this meeting SHALL BE WITHOUT LOSS OF PAY..."

This meeting would include your 1/2 hour lunch break and the remaining 1 hr 1/2 would be WITHOUT LOSS of pay.  You would still get your 15 min. breaks. before and/or after the meeting.
